Shell says to close all gasoline filling stations in Russia

MOSCOW, Mar 9 (PRIME) -- British-Dutch oil giant Shell will close its gasoline filling stations in Russia, the company said in a statement seen by PRIME on Wednesday.

The company will also stop production of jet fuel and oil lubricants in the country, it said.

Shell also announced its intent to phase out its participation in Russian hydrocarbon projects, including oil and oil products, natural gas and liquefied natural gas.

Australian companies Ampol and Viva Energy said in separate statements that they had suspended purchases of crude oil from Russia.

Danish energy company Orsted said that it wouldn’t sign contracts with Russian companies and wouldn’t prolong its contract with Gazprom Export, which expires in 2030.
